Berom Youths Hold Thanksgiving as Gbong Gwom Jos, HRM Da Jacob Gyang Buba CON Charges them not to Despair
The Berom Youth Moulders – Association (BYM, National Body) Week reached its climax on Sunday 29th December, 2019 with a Thanksgiving Service which held at Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) LCC Hwoll Riyom LGA, Plateau State.
The service was attended by the Gbong Gwom Jos and Chairman Plateau State Joint Traditional Council His Royal Majesty Da (Dr) Jacob Gyang Buba CON, Gwom Rwey (District Head) Riyom HRH Da Samuel Jok, Gwom Rwey Kuru HRH Da Patrick Mandung, BECO President Da Gyang Dudu, Clergies, Riyom Management Committee Chairman Hon. Mafeng Gwallson, the BYM National President Rwas Arc. Gabriel Sunday and illustrious Sons/Daughters of the Berom Nation.
In his remark, BYM National President thanked God for the success of the 2019 BYM Week started with homage visit to the Gbong Gwom Jos at his Palace in Jishe, Jos North LGA.
Arc. Gabriel couldn’t hide his tears when he spoke emotionally about the happenings in the Berom Nation and said he is ready to die for the Berom Nation.
He said the youths have resolved to give the Gbong Gwom Jos unflinching supports to succeed.
“No one will be allowed to ridicule our Royal Father, the Gbong Gwom Jos again no matter how highly placed he/she is” he said.
He called on the youths to unite for the growth of the Berom Nation.
BYM National President pleaded for prayers and maximum supports from the youths and Berom Nation to succeed.
In his remark, the Management Committee Chairman Riyom LGA, Hon. Mafeng Gwallson said he is on his 2nd missionary journey and disclosed that his administration is deliberate about the development of the Local Area.
He promised to give the needed support to the development of the youths.
He said he will give greater attention to areas affected by crisis in the Local Government. He also said high concentration will be given to agriculture in his optimistic plan of 2020.
In his remark, Gbong Gwom Jos, HRM Da Jacob Gyang Buba, CON commended BYM for the initiative and said he will give them the much needed support.
He charged the youths not to despair but be optimistic of a greater Berom Nation despite the present numerous challenges.
He called on the clergies, youths, politicians and traditional leaders to unite for the progress of the Berom Nation.
He frowned at drug abuse by the people especially and urged them to embrace godly lifestyles and prayed for the youths.
Gbong Gwom Jos admonished the youths to take self development seriously and remain good ambassadors of the Berom Nation at all times.
Ministering on the topic “Faithfulness in Pleasing God as Christians” Rev. Joseph Mandyal the Chairman COCIN RCC Turu read from Matthew 5:19-20
He observed that people today are nonchalant on things of God and only want to impress others.
He said as light and salt of the world, Christians must serve God and please Him diligently.
He said we are only Christians if our ways/character are Christ-like and depicts God.
He admonished the congregation to be Ambassadors (representatives) of God on earth.
He said There is need for daily self evaluation by all Christians and spoke on the need for Christians to allow God take absolute control of all their endeavors.
He said many today have sold their destinies to worldly things and urged the youths to emulate the lifestyle of Joseph who resisted pleasure/immorality but was later uplifted by God at the proper time.
Special prayer was made on the BYM National Executives by Rev. Joseph Mandyal the Chairman RCC Turu.
Guests were later treated to a Lunch at Riyom Guest House by the Management Committee Chairman Riyom, Hon. Mafeng Gwallson.
